I had a very difficult time with the loss of my first cat Misty. I was blessed with her for 19 years, she was there for me through everything. She Loved me as much as I loved her. She was my everything. So I needed answers as to if I will see her again and this helped ease my mind. When they are all that you have in this world they really are like your children. I had to make the dreadful decision to put him down, he was about 16 yrs old and I’d had him since he was 8 weeks old. He had hip dysplasia and arthritis in his hind legs. His condition was getting so bad that he would fall when trying to go out and was constantly trying to get up on his own. He got to the place where he just couldn’t stand at all and his vet told us he was in pain. We had been giving him pain meds and making him comfortable and it just broke my heart to see my baby that way. I feel so guilty for having him put down and I’ve since asked the Lord to forgive me because I didn’t want to see him suffer, but I just can’t shake the guilt. Everybody who knows me knows I would have given anything to save him. I long for the day I can see him again, I feel so broken-hearted so those that know a word of prayer please pray for me. I love and miss him so much. I’d recommend this book to anyone who has a pet, is getting a pet, wants a pet or has lost a pet to read this book. I know I’ll read it again, it was so comforting to know I’ll see my baby again and that he is no longer suffering or in pain. ( Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2018 )

She lived to be 18 and I am very thankful that we had so many years together. I miss my beautiful companion every day. This book has brought me peace and comfort in the midst of tears and sadness. The in-depth way Niki explains the scriptures going back to the original greek and hebrew wording makes it clear that animals not only have spirits but that they go to the same place us Believers do...back to God their creator in heaven. I would recommend this book to anyone grieving the loss of their beloved furry companion. We can trust that we will be reunited with our furry babies again in heaven...never to separated! Why wouldn't they since they ARE the purest souls ON THIS PLANET!! However, it helped me tremendously to read some scripture,explaining it. The author did a WONDERFUL job and made it so easy to understand about why you are having,possibly the HARDEST HEARTBREAK,you have EVER experienced!! In my opinion, if you have recently lost your animal-child, I'd definitely read this book 1st! I am also very sorry for your loss as I know all too well how you are feeling right now! - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Sunshine Lady -- My favorite book on Animals in the Bible : This is my favorite book on the subject of animals in heaven, along with "The Rainbow Bridge: Pet Loss is Heaven's Gain" also by Niki Behrikis Shanahan. All her books are healing balm for a broken grieving heart. It is well researched and backed up with alot of Bible Scriptures that clearly show animals in God's redemption plan and plans for eternal life for all creation. There is also accurate translations of the original Greek and Hebrew words for better understanding that animals do have souls and spirts. Niki writes with much compassion and shares her own story of the loss of her cat Pete. I also enjoyed the near death stories of eye witnesses of animals and pets in heaven and the praying for animals chapter. I lost my beloved dog and cat last year just a few months apart . The book was uplifting and comforting at a very sad lonely time. I have all her books on the subject and have read them all several times each and bought them for friends. The author also has a wonderful web site. Take comfort in knowing our furbabies are alive in heaven today and waiting for our return. Thank you Niki and God Bless you! A Toy Poodle, he was born so very tiny only 1/2 ounce, yes one HALF ounce. He was exactly the length of my thumb. I babied him his entire life. He was diagnosed on his 6 yr birthday and only lived another 3 months and only sick the last 2 weeks. I am crushed. I had no idea I could love something so much that my heart is breaking. I needed this book. Such a blessing!!! This book is so thorough with loads of scripture to back it up. Really an answer to prayer, literally. I can't wait to be with my Pookie again.
